Clarke Energy has recently commissioned one of KOHLER’s new class of KD1100 generators for Melray Electrical at Canterbury Linen in Christchurch, New Zealand. The new KD range provides better fuel economy and a smaller footprint than ever before.
For over 30 years Canterbury Linen has provided an industry-leading linen service to over 500 commercial customers and hospitals throughout the West Coast and Canterbury Regions. Now Clarke Energy has ensured they can power on through electricity blackouts.
Clarke Energy was chosen to design, supply, install and commission a critical back-up KD1100kVA generator for their new purpose-built facility at Christchurch Airport. In addition to the commissioning, Clarke Energy’s scope included the supply of the equipment, the ducting of the exhaust system and a full load test to ensure that every performance criteria was successfully met.
Ever vigilant to the risks of power failures when you’re processing over 150 tonnes of linen each week, Canterbury Linen’s Project Manager Andy Fox commented regarding the requirement for reliable emergency power.
