Clarke Energy Wins Business of the Year Award

Knowsley Business Awards, Business of the Year, Clarke EnergyKnowsley Council has awarded Clarke Energy the Business of the Year Award for the Knowsley Business and Regeneration Awards 2012. The award was sponsored by Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership. Clarke Energy faced stiff competition from the other nominees Jaguar Land Rover, Total Glass, Counterline, Potter Group Logistics, and Glen Dimplex Home Appliances. The category for this award was for a business employing more than 50 staff. Judges considered all-round performance, key achievements, future plans and overall contribution to Knowsley.

Judges mentioned Clarke Energy’s sustained commitment to the area, its work on major sporting and infrastructure developments in London, its international expansion and its local apprenticeships programme.

Clarke Energy has been a key employer in the Knowsley area since the early 1990s. Clarke Energy engineers, installs and maintains combined heat and power plants for low carbon and renewable gaseous fuels. Clarke Energy has gone from strength to strength, originating as a pioneer in the development of landfill gas power plants the company is now operational in eleven countries across the world.

This is a great achievement and involves many people who we would like to thank Knowsley Chamber of Commerce who are proactive with their members and recently organised Lord Green (Minister of Trade and Investment) to open our new parts and component refurbishment facility.

Also we would like to recognise the ongoing support we receive from UK Trade and Investment, especially for our overseas expansion ambitions.

Finally we thank all our staff. Liverpool has an excellent skills pool providing us with talented employees which is key to supporting our continued plans for growth in the combined heat and power market.
