Clarke Energy’s Overhaul and Repair team has successfully completed a 60,000-hour service of a Jenbacher 620 engine for United Utilities, delivered through a Long Block Exchange approach and completed within a four-week period.
A Long Block Exchange utilises a Jenbacher factory-reconditioned engine that has been fully test run to full load before installation. This method offers major advantages over traditional strip-and-rebuild procedures, including significantly reduced downtime and enhanced performance assurance.
Service Process
The project was delivered through a structured and efficient workflow:
-
Extraction and transport of the existing unit to our Overhaul and Repair Centre
-
Engine exchange and reconditioning of heat exchangers, alternators, pumps and auxiliary equipment
-
Reinstallation, recommissioning and final handover
Thanks to this approach, the site received a fully reconditioned, performance-verified engine within just four weeks, ensuring minimal disruption and long-term operational reliability.
Strengthening a Long-Term Partnership
After nearly two decades of collaboration with United Utilities, we continue to deliver innovative lifecycle solutions that support the efficiency, resilience and performance of their critical operations.
We look forward to many more years of partnership and shared success.
