Clarke Energy Nigeria Surpasses 2025 STEM Engagement Goal

At the beginning of 2025, Clarke Energy in Nigeria set ourselves the ambitious goal of reaching 1,000 lives through a series of impactful initiatives designed to inspire, equip and prepare young people for future careers in energy and STEM. This commitment spanned across diverse groups including graduates, undergraduates and secondary school students, delivered through both online and offline engagement.

By the end of August, we are delighted to share that we not only achieved this target but surpassed it by 8 percent, reaching a total of 1,075 individuals. Among this number, more than 400 were female students, representing over 40 percent of our total engagement. This reflects our strong commitment to championing the girl-child, particularly in STEM education and career pathways, and highlights the tangible impact of initiatives such as the, STEM Awareness programmes and the Careers in Energy Summit (CARES).

Our activities have taken place across a range of locations, from virtual sessions with graduates nationwide to in-person STEM awareness programmes at schools in Lagos, through to university engagements at the Federal University of Technology in Akure and Owerri, and Lagos State University’s Epe campus. These sessions focused on building technical skills, sparking interest in STEM fields and preparing graduates and undergraduates for careers in the energy sector. The International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) celebrations provided a special focus on the female child, while CARES brought together large groups of students to explore career pathways in energy.

Reaching and surpassing our target is a significant milestone. It underscores both the importance of these initiatives and our continued dedication to nurturing the next generation of innovators and leaders in energy.
