Dhaka International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition 2023 | 15-18 February | Bangladesh

Clarke Energy alongside INNIO Jenbacher will be exhibiting at the 17th Dhaka International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition 2023 from the 15th to 18th February 2023. The event is held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Reports state that Bangladesh intends achieving its vision of promoting prosperity and fostering inclusiveness through three strategic objectives—boosting competitiveness, employment, and private sector development; promoting green growth and climate resilience; and strengthening human capital and social protection.

Green growth is a matter of both economic policy and sustainable development policy. It tackles two key imperatives together: the continued inclusive economic growth needed by developing countries to reduce poverty and improve wellbeing; and improved environmental management needed to tackle resource scarcities and climate change. As the energy transition progresses with a push to net zero, the demands on power generation are increasing.

In addition to reducing use of diesel, furnace oil, and coal, it is imperative for Bangladesh to enhance the usage of its renewable resources for generation of electricity. Centralized electricity producers are replacing larger plants with several smaller, decentralized wind energy and photovoltaic plants that provide power and heat where it is needed. There’s a downside, though: fluctuations in electricity production due to volatility of renewable energy sources. To avoid blackouts, the missing electricity must be generated through other available sources, quickly. That’s where another renewable energy source, biogas, comes into play—as a complement to these volatile, weather-dependent energy sources. In addition to renewable power, traditional combustion technologies can become CO2-free by using hydrogen (H2) as fuel. H2 is well suited as fuel for engines to generate electricity, heat and/or cooling. Integrated with solar, wind or other renewable technologies, H2 plants can form the backbone of 100% renewable microgrid.
