George Fowkes, Base Power

George Fowkes is a co-founder and director of BasePower, an award-winning supplier of energy centres into the food manufacturing industry. BasePower installations deliver guaranteed energy cost savings, increased resilience of supply, and improved environmental performance and can be supplied at zero capex, part-funded or on an asset ownership basis.

George’s career has spanned the development of clean power, water and waste technologies in the UK and Europe. Before setting up BasePower in 2014, he was head of business development at Tamar Energy, a renewable energy business, where he led the development team overseeing five projects into construction and another fifteen into development.

Adam Wray-Summerson, Clarke Energy

Adam Wray-Summerson is a Chartered Engineer with a passion for energy efficiency and sustainability.

Adam graduated with a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Liverpool in 2008 before embarking on his career with Clarke Energy. Adam has held roles, focussed on application design, technical sales, project development and a secondment to the United States in 2018 as Sales Director.

At Clarke he has helped develop specialist solutions in power generation applications throughout the UK, Ireland, United States and Africa.

Michael Smeeth, INNIO

Michael Smeeth runs the Global Resiliency business for INNIO and was previously Chief Commercial officer for General Electric UK and Ireland.

Michael has held a wide-ranging career, including leading a consultancy specialising in corporate and business development.

He was head of UK Healthcare for Fleishman Hillard International, Managing Director of Good relations Healthcare, a Director of London NHS Trust and ran campaigns and marketing for a major trade union
