Every August the Technical Training Department invite all our apprentices to our Knowsley head office for Apprentice Week. This is an opportunity to test the apprentices knowledge and ensure that they are learning the engineering basics and gaining a full technical understanding our product. Over the week, they sit practical assessments and write a presentation on a specific engineering process which is then delivered to their fellow apprentices and management.
Apprentice Week is a great opportunity to get all the apprentices together and see their progression from year to year. Everyone who is involved has a sense in pride of not only how successful the apprenticeship scheme is but how committed and enthusiastic they are.
Due to the growth over the past few years, this year it was split over two weeks to accommodate all years and programmes and at the end of the two weeks we held our Clarke Energy Apprentice Awards on Friday 16th August in Aloft Hotel Liverpool. This was to celebrate the apprentices who have successfully completed their 4 year Field Service Apprenticeship and have undertaken full time roles within our Overhaul & Repair department.
We then had our annual Clarke Energy Apprentice Awards, this year we had four awards below is the criteria.
The James Cartwright Award
This is a special award for this year in memory of James Cartwright. The apprentice who wins this award will have shown strong commitment, a positive attitude and has demonstrated potential in their role.
Photography Competition
Every apprentice submits two photographs, one of which is work related and the other which isn’t related to work. These are then reviewed by the Apprenticeship Team and two winners are chosen.
Survival AwardÂ
After the residential development week, each apprentice and the technical trainer votes for someone they would want to be stuck on a desert island with, who would be able to help them survive. Nominations include a brief explanation of why they would pick this person. And one winner is selected.
