Dhaka Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition 2017

Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) and Yorkers Trade & Marketing Services Co Limited are hosting the 14th Dhaka International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition 2017 (DTG), where Clarke Energy will be exhibiting. The exhibition takes place on 23rd -26th Feb 2017 in the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC).

Over the past few years, Bangladesh has witnessed and greatly benefited from the rapid development of the export-oriented textile industry. The country is now in 2nd position across the world, after China in the export of garments and this sector has contributed 80% to its gross domestic product (GDP). DTG is a platform where the latest technological advances in machinery related to textile and garment industry sector will be showcased, including that for gas based power plants, which contributes in excess of 50% to the energy supply of Bangladesh.

With the Government’s commitment to ensuring access to affordable and reliable electricity for all by 2021 and address the impending issues of energy security, increasing price of energy and global warming. It is imperative to explore supply side options such as waste-to-energy projects as well as combined heat and power plants, to efficiently use the current natural gas resources.

Clarke Energy celebrated 3 ½ years in Bangladesh in the year 2016 and has recently executed a natural gas based combined heat and power (CHP) plant project. This power plant will help the customer achieve higher overall efficiency by utilising the waste heat and reduce energy cost for their production unit.

In 2015 Clarke Energy’s New Dhaka service facility was opened by British High Commissioner and Dr. Md. Enamur Rahaman MP. Clarke Energy invests heavily in service support capability for GE’s Jenbacher gas fuelled generator equipment in Bangladesh with the development of a new product support infrastructure and recruitment of employees for the service facility. The development of this infrastructure in the country means the overhaul work can be conducted in country, rather than engines being sent to Europe for refurbishment, which overall is a better option for projects here.
