Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Manager – Data Center Power Generation will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing assigned data center power generation projects, including Jenbacher engine installations and balance of plant (BOP) infrastructure, ensuring successful completion on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client and Clarke Energy.

 

Specific responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of complex data center generation projects, team coordination, subcontractor oversight, and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional project teams for assigned data center power generation projects, including Clarke Energy engineering staff, subcontractors, and site personnel.
  • Conduct routine site walks and leadership meetings to ensure safety compliance and real-time schedule alignment.
  • Manage overall performance and delivery of projects against contractual timelines, scope, and quality standards.
  • Organize and facilitate regular internal coordination meetings and one-to-one sessions with key team members to monitor progress, resolve issues, and keep the project on track.
  • Provide training and mentorship opportunities for team members to improve performance and project delivery capabilities.
  • Liaise with data center clients and developers to interpret project goals, resolve issues, and advise leadership on contractual deviations.
  • Negotiate and agree on project milestones, critical path activities, and commercial terms with client representatives.
  • Develop and manage detailed construction and commissioning schedules using tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
  • Partner with the Finance Director to forecast and track project costs, payment milestones, and revenue recognition aligned with contract obligations.
  • Ensure all projects are executed in strict compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and Quality standards.
  • Assign and manage resources internally and subcontracted—to maintain project momentum and achieve quality benchmarks.
  • Source, evaluate, and manage vendor and subcontractor agreements to ensure value, reliability, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor progress at all stages of construction, mechanical/electrical installation, commissioning, and client handover—taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients, updating progress, mitigating risks, and ensuring high satisfaction.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Project Director and stakeholders, including risk assessments, progress metrics, and issue resolution.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering discipline or minimum 8 years of power generation or data center construction experience.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-million-dollar engineering or EPC projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HSE, Quality, and Commissioning protocols.
  • Strong understanding of the power generation sector, including reciprocating engine systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and scheduling/project controls software.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent project management qualification (preferred).
  • Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, or similar project tracking software.
  • Experience in multi-engine containerized solutions and utility interconnect processes.
  • Deep understanding of data center construction practices and power generation systems (e.g., Jenbacher engines).
  • Familiarity with BOP systems, MEP integration, and data center commissioning.
  • Budget management and financial reporting experience for complex projects.
  • Working knowledge of contract law, construction claims, and commercial conditions.
  • Demonstrates reliability, integrity, and professionalism at all times.
