This week Clarke Energy Limited have announced that they are to provide kit sponsorship to local rugby union side Mossley Hill RUFC. Based in South Liverpool, Mossley Hill RUFC were founded in 1986 and have three senior sides competing in RFU leagues – North Lancashire 2 (1st XV), University of Salford NWL Division 5 West (2nd XV), and the Merseyside Merit Table (3rd XV), as well as having a juniors side – ‘The Mossley Hill Knights’ progressing well in their second season together.
Despite the club’s Latin motto of ‘Id nos vinixisemus’ (roughly ‘we should have won that one!’) the 1st XV only narrowly missed out on promotion last year with the 2nd 3rd XV’s deciding to move into more competitive leagues.

Without the help of kind donations such as that made by Clarke Energy we would not be able to function as an organisation so it is fantastic to receive such a generous offering. All the lads are very grateful to Clarke’s and looking forward to the new season. »
As for the new season, the 1st XV started their cup campaign in the Lancashire Bowl with a 26-0 win over league newcomers Clitheroe. The first league game is scheduled away at Colne & Nelson.
