Join Clarke Energy as a Field Service Operator and play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our energy plant at a leading data centre in Dublin.
Job Purpose
To operate and maintain a Data Centre Energy Plant on a rotating day shift, ensuring maximum availability of Jenbacher gas engines and associated systems. This role involves first-line maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault rectification while meeting client operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operation and Maintenance
- Operate engines, generators, and balance-of-plant equipment to deliver reliable and efficient service.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and routine repairs in line with OEM specifications.
- Respond promptly to issues, troubleshooting and resolving faults to minimize downtime.
- Carry out oil and water sampling and dispatch samples for analysis.
Customer and Team Support
- Maintain clear communication with the Area Service Manager, internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Document all site activities accurately, including daily checks and service reports.
- Support planned maintenance activities and escalate issues when necessary.
Health, Safety, and Environment
- Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Report accidents or near misses in accordance with legislation and company policy.
What We’re Looking For
Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Strong engineering knowledge with aptitude for both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Product knowledge of gas reciprocating engines.
- Good IT skills for documentation and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Service engineering qualification and experience.
- Good level of engineering skill.
- Product knowledge of gas engines.
Desirable:
- Jenbacher gas engine experience and/or accredited training.
