Financial Accountant – Clarke Energy (Knowsley HQ)

Clarke Energy is looking for a proactive finance professional to join our team at our Knowsley headquarters. You’ll play a pivotal role in managing financial controls, cashflow, and regulatory compliance – helping us power the future of sustainable energy.

What You’ll Do
As a Financial Accountant, you’ll lead transactional finance operations and support strategic reporting. Your day-to-day will include:
• Managing payment processes and forecasting cashflow
• Reviewing team outputs to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Guiding and developing team members in daily operations
• Enhancing financial controls and identifying process improvements
• Preparing VAT returns and ensuring HMRC compliance
• Owning key finance projects and reporting packs
• Producing monthly reports and supporting audits
• Reviewing balance sheets, fixed assets, and expense records
• Supporting treasury functions, FX deals, and intercompany funding
• Collaborating across departments to drive efficiency
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience:
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
• Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience in a fast-paced corporate finance environment
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (Navision 4PS a plus)
