Organix Energy and Clarke Energy Bangladesh Ltd. Forge Strategic Alliance to Accelerate Renewable Energy and Waste-to-Energy Solutions in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh – Organix Energy Inc., a Canada-based renewable energy project developer, and Clarke Energy Bangladesh Ltd., a Rehlko Company and global leader in distributed power generation solutions, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on renewable energy initiatives in Bangladesh. This partnership signifies a shared commitment to promoting cleaner energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and transforming the country’s waste management landscape.

The collaboration will combine Organix Energy’s expertise in biogas and renewable natural gas (RNG) development with Clarke Energy’s technical strength in gas-based power generation and project implementation. Together, the two companies will explore and develop innovative waste-to-energy projects, particularly those utilizing landfill gas and organic waste streams.

Landfills are a major source of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs), particularly methane—a greenhouse gas over 80 times more potent than carbon dioxide over a 20-year period. According to the UNFCC, Bangladesh’s landfills emit an estimated 1.2 million tonnes of methane annually, contributing significantly to national GHG emissions. Through the deployment of biogas and landfill gas capture systems, Organix Energy and Clarke Energy aim to mitigate these emissions by converting methane into clean electricity and heat. This aligns with global efforts such as the Global Methane Pledge, spearheaded by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and supported by the World Biogas Association, which calls for a 30% reduction in global methane emissions by 2030. By capturing and utilizing methane from waste, the partnership supports Bangladesh’s contribution to this international climate commitment, while improving air quality and promoting energy resilience.

Organix Energy, headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, has built a robust pipeline of renewable energy projects in Bangladesh, aimed at tackling both urban and rural waste challenges. Beyond addressing the pressing issue of waste accumulation, the company is focused on unlocking the hidden value in organic waste by converting it into clean energy, organic fertilizer, and other usable byproducts. Through this approach, Organix seeks to drive circular economy principles that create environmental, social, and economic value for communities.

Clarke Energy, with a proven track record in distributed energy solutions, brings deep local knowledge and technical capacity to ensure project success from design to execution. Their presence in Bangladesh strengthens the partnership’s ability to deliver high-efficiency energy systems that meet the country’s growing demand for reliable and sustainable power.

The MoU outlines mutual cooperation in areas such as project development support, technology sharing, resource mobilization, and capacity building. Both parties aim to work closely on joint project proposals, stakeholder engagement, and long-term operations to ensure sustainable outcomes.

“This partnership strengthens our mission to bring sustainable and scalable waste-to-energy solutions to Bangladesh,” said Tapas Biswas, M.A.Sc., P.Eng., Principal of Organix Energy Inc. “By leveraging Clarke Energy’s proven expertise in gas-based distributed generation, we can significantly advance renewable energy adoption and climate mitigation.”

Punit Garg, Managing Director of Clarke Energy Bangladesh Ltd., added, “Our collaboration with Organix Energy represents a shared vision of utilizing cutting-edge technology and project management excellence to tackle the pressing waste and energy challenges of Bangladesh. We look forward to delivering impactful, community-focused energy solutions.”

This strategic alliance marks a major step forward in addressing Bangladesh’s environmental and energy security goals. By integrating waste conversion with clean energy generation, the two organizations are paving the way for a greener, more resilient future.
