As one of the leading operators on the coal bed methane (CBM) front (also called coal seam methane), Essar Oil Limited has entered into a contract with the Government of India for Exploration & Production activities in the Raniganj region of West Bengal.
Essar Oil Limited are the pioneers in identifying CBM potential in the country and are currently extracting CBM from Raniganj block.
The project conceptualizes collection of CBM gas at a common gas gathering station for supplying it to the industries after compression. Considering the applicability of the project, GE Energy’s Jenbacher gas gensets and accessories were ordered on Clarke Energy, wherein the gas gensets generate electricity to drive motors of gas compressors and address station’s electricity requirements. The project describes how best practices can be used for creating industry impact.
Since it’s commissioning in 2011, the GE Jenbacher gas gensets and the services rendered by Clarke Energy has been duly noted in contributing to deliver project’s motive.
