BEPCO Brașov 42.7MWe District Heating Project, Romania

BEPCO was the first large scale district heating project in Romania utilising internal combustion engines.

BEPCO built, owns and operate four cogeneration power plants for district heating în Brasov;

The electricity is injected in SEN (National Power Grid), while the heat is delivered to Brasov’s district-heating system:

1 – CET NORD 1 – district heating having 5 engine JMS 624 with technical data: Electrical output  20 MW / Thermal Power 18,24 MW

2 – CET METROM – district heating having 2 engines JMS 620 with technical data: Electrical output  6,7 MW / Thermal Power 18,63 (6,2) MW

3 – CET NOUA – district heating having 1 engine JMS 616 with technical data: Electrical output  2,6 MW / Thermal Power 2,98 MW

4 – CET NORD 2 – district heating having 3 engines JMS 624 with technical data: Electrical output  13,2 MW / Thermal Power 11,2 MW

The engines fleet was delivered, installed and commissioning by Clarke Energy

Beginning 2016 BEPCO provides ancillary services (fast tertiary reserve);

Ancillary services are all services required by the transmission or distribution system operator to enable them to maintain the integrity and stability of the transmission or distribution system as well as the power quality.
