Guy’s and St Thomas’ letter of support

Guys & St Thomas support letter

Clarke Energy is delighted to receive a letter of support from Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. This letter outlines the success of the CHP installations at both hospitals and the service support provided by Clarke Energy. You can find a case study for the project here.

The letter reads

To Whom It May Concern

“After reviewing a range of approaches for meeting the energy and carbon reduction needs of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, it became clear that combined heat and power (CHP) technology represented the optimal approach due to our 24 hour demand for heat and hot water, as well as the size of our hospital.

When we examined the options for CHP in the marketplace, we were most impressed by the GE Jenbacher engine.

Two 3MW GE Jenbacher gas engines installed at our two acute hospital sites in 2009 have performed consistently well and have enabled us to meet our carbon reduction targets ahead of time whilst providing high quality power and heat.

Clarke Energy, the company chosen by tender to provide maintenance for the CHP has provided good service and is always available to ensure the smooth running of our CHP.

We are happy to respond to any queries you may have on our CHP installation.”

The letter is co-signed by the Sustainability Manager and Energy Manager for the NHS Foundation Trust.

Clarke Energy would like to thank Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital for this recognition. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with the Hospitals in the future.
