Celebrating International Women in Engineering Day in Nigeria.
At Clarke Energy, a Rehlko business, we believe that creating a more sustainable energy future starts with investing in people. That commitment was on full display in Nigeria as our team celebrated International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) with students at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH).

Earlier this year, we set an ambitious objective: to engage 1,200 students and young professionals through STEM initiatives and Career Summit outreach programmes. This is while ensuring that at least half of participants were girls and young women. Just six months into the year, those targets have not only been achieved but significantly exceeded. Overall engagement surpassed annual goals by 193% and female participation exceeded expectations by 299%.
A key milestone in this journey was our INWED event at LASUSTECH, where more than 250 students came together to learn about opportunities within engineering and the energy sector. Supported by a team of 10 Clarke Energy colleagues, the event featured presentations, career insights, and interactive Q&A sessions, providing students with direct access to professionals working in the industry.
The discussions highlighted the diverse career paths available within engineering and encouraged students to see themselves as part of the sector’s future. By sharing their experiences and advice, our colleagues helped demystify engineering careers and demonstrate the impact engineers can have in solving some of the world’s most important energy challenges.

By encouraging more young women to explore careers in engineering, this initiative demonstrates Rehlko and Clarke Energy’s commitment to empowering people, strengthening communities and building a more inclusive workforce for tomorrow.
