The eThekweni Municipality landfill gas-to-electricity project was officially launched on 28th January 2010 with a ceremony held at the Bisasar Road gas to electricity compound. Among those present were Energy Minister Ms. Dipuo Peters, Deputy Minister of Trade Ms. Maria Ntuli and eThekweni acting Mayor Logie Naidoo. The launch follows the second phase of the project with the addition and commissioning of two new Jenbacher 320 series engines in July / August 2009.
