Hot and tropical counties can pose challenges for the operation of the generator. If the generator exceeds certain temperature limits de-rating will occur. In order to overcome the challenge of high ambient temperatures the generator enclosure or container must be correctly engineered to ensure that the generator is adequately cooled. In addition to incorporation of enhanced ventilation systems different types of lubricating oils may also be required.
Through Clarke Energy’s significant experience of operating generators in these environments we have developed a modular high ambient temperature enclosure which has been particularly successful in the coal mine gas industry, but which can be applied to other environments.
