A carbon filter is an in-line container filled with activated carbon granules. Activated carbon has a high propensity for the adsorption of fuel gas contaminants. Carbon filters are often a necessity for tricky gases such as landfill gas. The carbon needs to be replaced periodically depending upon the level of contamination in the fuel gas.
