On the 1st April 2014 Clarke Energy staged an official launch event for it’s operations in Southern Africa. This follows two key acquisitions made by Clarke Energy in South Africa 2013. The event was a great success with ~100 customers and industry players in attendance. The event took place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Johannesburg and was opened by Paul de Mattos, Managing Director of Clarke Energy’s southern Africa operations.
A key note address was delivered by the British High Commissioner in the region Judith Macgregor followed by presentations by Alex Marshall and Alan Fletcher from Clarke Energy and Leon van Vuuren from GE Power & Water.
The High Commissioner welcomed Clarke Energy to the region and provided an outline of the benefits of international trade between the UK and Southern Africa. The International Festival for Business 2014 and the Africa Rising event taking place in Liverpool in June were also discussed.
Alex delivered an introduction to Clarke Energy highlighting the company’s international experience. This was followed by an outline of the company’s ethos and approach to the Southern Africa market by Alan Fletcher. Clarke Energy intends to make significant investment in after-sales support for GE’s Jenbacher product in the region.
